In August of 2008 we opened Buns in the Oven ~ From Labor to Love, a 1200 square foot 2 story retail store featuring maternity, clothing, accessories, gifts, and necessities for mom and child. We have recently more than doubled the size of our store by taking over Suite B of our building. Think of us as a family driven department store offering you the very best in maternity, gear, decor, strollers, car seats, toys, books, accessories, gifts and necessities, as well as baby and children's clothing & shoes.

Our unique brick and mortar store is located in a downtown historical shopping district rich with culture. We're less than a 30 second walk from several of the cities finest restaraunts, specialty stores and boutiques, a cinema complex, the Grove, the Esther Simplot Performing Arts Center, and the Idaho Ballet.

The focus of our store is to support moms and their family before, during and after pregnancy. We thoroughly research every product we carry, and make our choices not by what is the "hottest" seller, or the latest celebrity "it" product, but by determining if that company and product meets the specific needs of our customer; the ideals of our company and our customers (charitable donations, supporting projects for women and children, childhood literacy, etc.); and, if they are focused on protecting and preserving the environment. Our original renovations took more than 8 months, and our store is toxic free with no VOC paints, only water-based finishes on the ancient hardwood (ripped up carpet and hand-scraped years of paint off to find and restore original hardwood floors), and we recycle everything!

Best of all, we know most of our designers by name, and prefer buying from women in the US who are designing for women and children. Our concomitant focus is on providing eco-friendly and organic choices whenever and wherever possible.
